Period of PURPLE Crying ProgramThe Period of PURPLE Crying® program was launched in Prince Edward Island on November 26, 2012
The Period of PURPLE Crying is a prevention program to help educate parents and caregivers about normal infant crying and the dangers of shaking an infant.
Each family who has a new baby now receives a Period of PURPLE Crying DVD and booklet and has a chance to talk with nurses in hospital about the normal patterns of infant crying. Families can also talk about the program and ask questions during their at-home visits with Public Health Nursing. The DVD and the nurses provides parents and caregivers tips on coping with normal infant crying.
